Trapper,
I just finished reading the 312 pages of the Glenn Simpson interview, and I have some observations..
The key is when did events occur (timeline) of any surveillance or active mischief (some exposed to President trump by Admiral Rodgers on Nov 17..after the election ) is of critical importance if there is a legal distinction between Eavesdropping on A). a presidential candidate, B). a President-Elect, and C) A President.

I think that Feinstein (in releasing the interview) was trying to nail down a PRE-ELECTION timeline to nullify any adverse actions / reactions against the Democrats, Political operatives, and DOJ/FBI/CIA activities. Even this effort may not work, as Simpson admitted that even though election night was the end of his official engagement, stuff in the pipeline kept coming in.

I would guess that surveilling a presidential candidate is a political matter, with a government department (if involved) suffering a minor slap on the wrist, congressional hearings, (some firings), and perhaps some bad press.

I would guess that same activity on a President-elect would be semi-serious because of National Security and associated concerns as he prepares to assume office. This would probably lead to a constitutional crisis, with or without executive, legislative or judicial branch involvement, and would certainly be of monumental import.

I know that surveilling the President is probably right up there with Treason as a crime against the United States. I would guess that no-one wants to go there (even if it happened). My guess is that it did happen, through the DOJ National Security Division (IG not allowed to audit). Treason, sedition, whatever — Let’s not get too picky. The legal details can be worked out when the indictments are written.

So the Key dates are Nov 8, and Jan 20 .....

In the end I predict that we will see the real collusion was between the HRC campaign/DNC/Fusion GPS/Russia and the FBI/DoJ. Some folks will be going to jail for a long-long time.

The truth will come out, we have passed the tipping point and it will rock our constitutional republic to the core. That's got to happen first and then we can set about fixing it!
Trapper,

I think I caught up to you, as everyone else seems positive that there was an APPROVED FISA warrant issued. We know (or think we know) that one request was NOT APPROVED. How do we know that a later request was approved.

We know that Judge Rudolph Contreras (who presided over a December hearing where LTG Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI) was recused.. Contreras is a member of the FISA court, and we do not know his role in any FISA warrant (approved or not), but the timing of his recusal (voluntary or not) is damn sure curious.....:

First, kudos for slogging through that.

One other interesting timeline aspect seems (to me) apparent conflicts between what McCain says, and what Sir Andrew Wood (former UK ambassador to Moscow) says relating to how McCain got the dossier, to give to Comey.

From a Breitbart article here:

Quote:
Sir Andrew Wood, a former British ambassador to Moscow, said McCain first consulted him about the claims inside the dossier at a security conference in Canada shortly after last November’s presidential election.

Wood stated that McCain had obtained the documents from the senator’s own sources. “I told him I was aware of what was in the report but I had not read it myself, that it might be true, it might be untrue. I had no means of judging really,” Wood further told BBC Radio 4 in January.

Last Month, Wood related that he served as a “go-between” to inform McCain about the dossier contents. “My mission was essentially to be a go-between and a messenger, to tell the senator and assistants that such a dossier existed,” Wood told Fox News.

So which was it, McCain came to you, or you went to McCain?

In March, Vanity Fair raised questions about the alleged involvement of David J. Kramer, a former State Department official, in helping to obtain the dossier directly from Steele. [Likely hand-off mechanism, Steele to McCain?] The issue was also raised in a lawsuit filed against Steele by one of the individuals named in the dossier.

SNT, Interesting points, but I take issue with one point you made

Frankly, I think that is the most egregious of the potential offenses. Using the instruments of government in such a weaponized manner to spy on political opponents is exactly what Putin does in Russia. We already have seen that with the IRS and now the DoJ/FBI?

Now if we learn that the FBI/DoJ have used the dossier as the "insurance policy" should, in the unlikely event, Trump win the election and undermine him and plant the reason for impeachment proceedings - that would indeed be treasonous.

This would be enough to call me to arms if it isn't dealt with through our system of laws and justice.

And Badger, McCain was the cut-out in transfer of the dossier to provide credibility as an intelligence document, plain and simple. Whether McCain directed this or was set-up, it makes no difference. Reveals his true colors either way and is consistent with his prior behavior over his entire life.

Oh, Si Senor! I'm with you on that. I just pointed out that it looks like Fusion/Steele/DNC/KlintonMob/DeepState were using add'l cutouts, which they are very adept at doing. "So how do we get this to a treacherous guy that hates Trump because he might upset the puppy's dish?" And then the guy he gives it to... must've made the DNC think their wet dream came true.

Trapper,

I was far too cavalier in my wordsmithing. You are correct..... That is what they do in Russia, etc..

What I failed to correctly posit was, of the three (3) actions against a American seeking Presidential office, the least-worse would be against a contender for the office, and the most grievous against a sitting president.

Your reply was correct for both...." Trump win the election and undermine him and plant the reason for impeachment proceedings - that would indeed be treasonous".

IMO Trump needs to just continue with his agenda & let the glacial pace of some congress-kritters do what they do. There will be letters to bureaucrats asking for documents, which will be ignored. There will be really strongly-worded letters to bureaucrats asking for documents, which will be ignored. There will be subpoenas for documents that will be reshuffled sideways into "offices of legal counsel" and ignored. Requests for witnesses; they're suddenly unavailable & will have to be rescheduled (or amazingly in their 50's had a fatal accident while cliff-diving in Mexico). I will be chasing smallies up north this fall before this stuff gets any closer to someone getting their mugshot taken. I'd be delighted to be wrong.

Agree. Withhold budget/funding until information is provided.

Diane Feinstein can suck a bowl of dicks!

How normal people don’t see this is beyond Beyoncé being only an entertainer in a gold swimsuit shaking her fat ass blaming white cops for killing only black criminals is only proof of the level of stupidity that democrats will put forth as truth.
LOL....Diane Feinstein......That Old C-Bag...Didn't I read that she stated "she blamed it on a bad cold" when she handled the release of an interview transcript behind the anti-Trump dossier which affected her so called judgement of releasing info? (Fox News) BS...I am sorry, those Government Officials who have been elected over and over and over again are so ineffective, power hungry, assine, and utterly brain dead. Let’s face it, if you are a Democrat all you want to do is sling dirt on the “Trump” administration because they have “loser syndrome”. It’s a circus, and the freakin clowns have spent too much time in that tiny clown car...they have been starved of oxygen for so many years now, rational thinking is non-existent.

Hopefully, the I.G. report is on the up and up, and just in time with the mid terms. If not I think you'll have lotsa company.

So Senator Feinstein is stating that she is incompetent of properly discharging the duties of her office because of health issues?

...interesting - I wonder when the left will start calling for her resignation since now it is clear that something as minor as the flu interferes with the good senators cognitive and mental state

He was reported as "increasingly frail" a month ago. Still had strength to tweet about Trump's comment on Haiti yesterday though. Wasn't anything special. Typical babble about dignity yada, yada, yada.

He and his BFF Harry Reid are “Gone Fishin’” at least in the eyes of the media collusion with all that’s happening in real news today. BLM agents acted badly with cover from Reid’s office to punish a free-loading rancher and the man of the hour responsible for legitimizing the Trump Dossier is too ill to answer questions about it.

In other news...

Trump should tweet: I have a lot of respect for Sen. Dick Durbin, but he was mistaken and misquoted me. I said, I said, “Washington DC is a “shit-hole” and I don’t know why anyone would want to immigrate here from Africa or Haiti where the US provides hundreds of millions of dollars in humanitarian aid.”

Also, in the future all partisan discussions between the office of President of the United States and the members of Congress will take place in the Capitol Assembly with CSPAN rolling - only CSPAN. The fake news, lies, and disingenuous remarks coming from privately held discussions will no longer be distractions to the real business of solving difficult questions and issues.

They're having a cuddle-session with Lindsey Graham over POTUS inviting some less-than-cuddly reform advocates to the meeting. Boo-hoo. Time to just walk out on the ice gents.
