SIG Sauer to close production in Germany

SIG Sauer, long the target of disarmament campaigns in Germany, announced Thursday it intended by year's end to close it's factory at Eckernforde near Kiel, capital of Germany's northernmost state of Schleswig - Holstein.

This would be a great kick in the balls to Frau uber-fuhrer Merkle.
Even better if they move 100% to the USA

Apparently the export laws here (ability to "make a deal") are less stringent than Germany's, at least insofar as their market. Their execs apparently took it in the wallet over that deal that sent pistols to Colombia (banned customer) via the Sig Sauer USA division.

Export laws were the reason that SIG (Swiss) joined with J.P. Sauer (West Germany) to build the 22x series. West Germany was less stringent than Switzerland. History repeats itself.
