Patriots Point
Another place to get into a submarine, the USS Clamagore (1945 ) and a few other surface ships are docked at Patriots Point in the Charleston SC area.

There is also a nice museum down town which features some of the Civil War era efforts. Charleston is an incredible place to vacation with lots of great food and adventures. I feel the same way about submarines, very intriguing.
